The front porch of Liriodendron Mansion is covered by
a trellis that in winter holds dry branches, and most of the year, a
leafy canopy. But right now,
the pale purple wisteria flowers are open and their perfume is
intoxicating. Fat black bees find a brief paradise among the open buds.
The buzzing pleasantly blocks other sounds. It is one of the most
wonderful springtime places to be. |

The mansion is open for tours and Gallery exhibits on most Sundays from
1 p.m. to 4 p.m., but you can walk the grounds and visit the front porch
almost any time you like (except when private events such as weddings
are taking place). We’ll send you an e-mail update if you join our
Wisteria Watch list so you'll get a special notice and know just when to
visit. Visit now. |
