The Gallery has three rooms full of model railroads and train gardens. Get a fascinating "behind the scenes" look at the creation of a train layout in its various stages. Different scales of trains are displayed throughout the rooms. Vintage photos of Harford County train stations from the days of the Ma and Pa Railroad are on display, from the collection of the Historical Society of Harford County.
The Gallery's fourth room contains a special holiday exhibit of the famous Thame Teddy Bears. Teddy Bear artist David Stollery of Thame, England, founded Thame (pronounced "tame") Bears in 1994. David designs and hand-crafts each bear in the classical style of the traditional teddy bear with long arms, pronounced snouts and a hump, and then personalizes them with his own artistic interpretations. This holiday showcase of Thame Teddy Bears will be available for perusal and purchase. David now resides in Fallston.
Also in the fourth Gallery room are showcases that highlight the figures and landscapes from the world of role-playing games. These handmade toy soldiers and other miniature wonders show that gaming is about more than just strategy. These tiny figures skillfully capture the emotions of the battlefield, from Civil War soldiers, to knights in battle, to fantasy warriors, and much more. They repay close study with miniature displays of heroism, elation, and the horror of war.
From all of us at Liriodendron, have a wonderful holiday season!
