About the
Gallery and Museum Committee
Four rooms
on the second floor of the historic Liriodendron mansion make up the
gallery space curated by the Museum Committee. Three rooms offer rotating
gallery space for works by artists from the Harford county region.
The museum
committee exists to curate these ongoing shows and their opening
receptions. We work to provide visitors with a view of the current artists
or retrospectives of past artisans from Harford County. We additionally
showcase performing artists at the Liriodendron through grant monies
obtained from the Harford County Cultural Advisory Committee and other
benefactors.
Our fourth
gallery, under the direction of Pat Kazi, displays our permanent
collection. The collection consists of works from professional artists
with connections to Harford county, reflecting not only the major trends
of technique and materials from the 1980’s to the present, but also the
impact that local artists have had on the art world.
The Museum committee functions through the energies of its
volunteers. If you would be interested in volunteering to docent exhibits,
help with the opening receptions or volunteer in the Gallery please
contact Carol Wolosik at 410 836-1719 or Maryanna Skowronski at 410
838-4152 for more information.
